A delegation of CHESICC, headed by Mr. Ning Xiaohua, Deputy Director-General, participated in the Groningen Declaration Third Annual Meeting from April 7 to 9, 2014 in Washington D.C. USA.
The Groningen Declaration seeks common ground in best serving the academic and professional mobility needs of citizens worldwide by bringing together key stakeholders in the Digital Student Data Ecosystem. This year’s annual meeting is co-organized by DUO, AACRAO, and NSC, with the theme “The Future of Digital Student Data Portability”.
Approved by Ministry of Education, Mr. Ning, as representative of CHESICC, formally signed theGroningen Declarationduring the Opening up GD for New Signatures session on April 8. This proves to be CHESICC’s motivation in promoting student data portability and better serving student mobility.
On April 9, Mr. Ning delivered a speech in the session of Presentation on Student Data Exchange Pilots, together with Dr. Shao Wei, Secretary General of CEAIE, Jim Wolfston, CEO of CollegeNET, and Tom Black, Associate Provost of Stanford University. Mr. Ning introduced CHESICC’s pilot with CollegeNET and NSC, China’s educational qualification system, and CHESICC’s effort in educational quality evaluation.
